What You Can Expect

  • Outpatient Parental Antimicrobial Therapy Management: Lead our outpatient parental antimicrobial therapy (OPAT) program, with the support of nursing and other ID providers.   
  • Lead Patient-Centric Care: Provide direct, compassionate patient care, ensuring every patient feels supported and understood.
  • Tailor Medication Therapy: Take the reins in initiating, adjusting, and discontinuing medications, crafting personalized treatment plans that optimize outcomes for each patient.
  • Proactive Monitoring: Order and monitor labs while performing limited physical assessments, keeping a close eye on patient progress and making timely adjustments as needed.
  • Educate and Empower: Share your expertise through drug information and education for healthcare providers, ensuring they have the knowledge to support their patients effectively.
  • Collaborate Across Disciplines: Engage in shared visits with other providers, fostering a holistic approach to patient care that integrates multiple perspectives and expertise.
  • Enhance Patient Understanding: Conduct comprehensive education with patients to guide them through complex medication regimens and various sites of care.

Qualifications (I’ll update to the actual verbiage we use)

  • Idaho Pharmacist License
  • PharmD
  • BLS

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clinical management of infectious disease or OPAT programs.
  • Completion of PGY2 Infectious Disease Residency OR completion of a PGY1 pharmacy residency program with infectious disease-focus OR equivalent infectious disease experience.
  • Current or future Board Certification in Infectious Disease Pharmacy (BCIDP)
