Overview

Under limited/moderate supervision, the IHT Service Desk Specialist provides technical support to end-users for IT infrastructure and hardware, end-point devices, servers and applications.

  • Acts as a second level issue identification and resolution resource, including recognizing, researching, isolating and resolving information systems issues, answering questions, providing advice, troubleshooting, and following-up to assist users in solving their technical computing issues.

  • Simulates or recreates user issues to resolve operating problems.

  • Recommends systems modifications to reduce user issues.

  • May interact with unified communications, software systems engineering, and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct core issues.

  • Coordinates user issue resolution with other support teams if necessary, and tracks and reports known and recurring issues.

  • Documents and tracks issues via an incident and Known Error Database (KEDB) for problem management.

  • Handles moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.

  • Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter.

  • May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to subordinate group.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
