What You Can Expect:

  • Schedule: 7am-3pm Monday-Friday
  • This is a Parking Enforcement specific Security Officer 1 role.
  • Ensures safe and accessible parking for patients, visitors, and staff by enforcing St. Luke’s parking policies across all properties. This role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage conflict professionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patrol & Enforcement
    • Monitor parking garages and surface lots to identify violations, trespassers, and potentially abandoned vehicles.
    • Issue citations to employees and others in violation of St. Luke’s parking policies.
    • Coordinate the removal of abandoned vehicles or repeat offenders.
  • Customer Service & Communication
    • Respond to parking-related inquiries from patients, visitors, and staff via phone and email.
    • De-escalate conflicts and resolve concerns with professionalism and empathy.
    • Clearly communicate parking policies to employees, providers, patients, and visitors.
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Log violations and vehicle registration data using computer systems and databases.
    • Maintain organized records and manage incoming/outgoing mail related to enforcement.
    • Report suspicious activity, property damage, fire, theft, trespassing, and illegal entry to Security.
  • Collaboration & Coordination
    • Work closely with Security and other departments to ensure consistent enforcement and safety.
    • Coordinate patrol routes and enforcement duties for maximum efficiency.
  • Technology & Tools
    • Use handheld digital devices for citation issuance and data entry.
    • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel.
  • Additional Duties
    • Perform other related tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Under general supervision, the Security Officer 1 is responsible for the safety and well-being of patients, visitors, staff, and hospital property.

  • Makes periodic tours of premises and grounds, examining doors, windows, and gates to ensure that they are properly secured. Guards property against damage, fire, theft, trespassing, and illegal entry. Controls access to health system facilities.

  • Applies de-escalation tactics when needed ensuring patients or visitors do not harm themselves or others.

  • Investigates incidents, collects data, and reports security, safety, and fire hazards. May assist in maintaining daily incident log.

  • Investigates disturbances. May serve as liaison with local law enforcement agencies, and in the event of an emergency, maintains order and safety of personnel.

  • Directs patrons or employees and answers questions relative to location of organization's services. May screen visitors and issue visitor passes when appropriate.

  • May monitor patient, visitor, and employee parking in garages, lots, and zones, enforce parking regulations and issue parking citations when appropriate. Compiles reports to leadership with statistical data related to number of tickets issued, location, number of vehicles towed, and trends.

  • Handles basic, straightforward issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

     

    -Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: 1 years experience
  • Licenses/Certifications: Driver's License Fleet Vehicle
