What You Can Expect:
As a Behavioral Health RN in the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), you will play a key role in supporting patients who require a higher level of structured behavioral health care than traditional outpatient therapy, but who do not need 24/7 inpatient treatment. This program provides a supportive, therapeutic environment designed to help patients achieve stability and develop coping strategies while maintaining their daily routines.
In this role, you will work collaboratively with the IOP Medical Director, IOP Clinical Manager, and a multidisciplinary team of clinicians to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. You’ll serve as a clinical resource and patient advocate, helping coordinate care across multiple settings and ensuring safety and continuity of services.
Key Responsibilities:
Support care coordination through referral management and prior authorizations, including completing payer forms and documentation.
Act as a Safety Influencer, Care Council member, and EOC Champion, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Coordinate higher levels of care when needed, including Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) or inpatient psychiatric admissions.
Triage patient calls, take vital signs, and assist with inbasket work and patient communication.
Participate in suicide risk screenings and safety planning when a clinician is unavailable.
Collaborate with PAS, clinical and psychiatric staff, and referral sources to ensure smooth transitions of care.
Engage in IOP practice management activities and support overall program operations.
Partner with the ambulatory behavioral health nursing team to promote best practices, safety, and clinical excellence across the continuum of care.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8a-5p. No weekends / holidays!
