Inpatient Pharmacist – Full Time

Location: Twin Falls, Idaho

Overview

St. Luke’s Health System in Twin Falls is seeking a Full-Time Inpatient Pharmacist to join our dedicated pharmacy team. As an integral member of the healthcare team, the pharmacist is responsible for ensuring safe, effective, and evidence-based medication therapy for our patients while supporting a culture of clinical excellence and collaboration.

This position offers 10-hour shifts (4x10s) and includes working every 3rd weekend.

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with providers and clinical teams to ensure the appropriateness of prescribed medication therapy.
  • Enter, verify, and process medication orders in accordance with institutional policies and procedures.
  • Provide medication information and consultation to patients, nurses, and medical staff.
  • Interpret prescriptions, compound, and dispense medications accurately and safely.
  • Supervise and authorize the work of pharmacy technicians, externs, interns, and support staff.
  • Prepare and maintain all necessary records related to medication therapy, prescriptions, patient charges, medical records, and inventory.
  • Perform cognitive clinical pharmacy services and document findings and interventions per medical center standards.
  • Administer medications and vaccinations as appropriate.
  • Participate in the training, education, and mentoring of pharmacy technicians, externs, interns, residents, and other department staff.
  • Serve as a professional role model and mentor for students, residents, and new practitioners.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Education: Degree from an accredited pharmacy program (PharmD or equivalent).
  • Experience: No prior experience required; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Licenses/Certifications:
    • Valid Pharmacist License in the State of Idaho (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date).
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certification through the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI), American Heart Association (AHA), or American Red Cross.

  • Full-time position
  • 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week (4x10s)
  • Every 3rd weekend rotation
