Position Summary:

With a high degree of latitude, the Applications Analyst – Pharmacy is responsible for analyzing, supporting, and optimizing electronic pharmacy systems. This role requires deep expertise in Epic Willow and the ability to handle complex system issues while serving as a subject matter expert for pharmacy applications. The analyst works closely with pharmacy staff, IT teams, and vendors to ensure systems are reliable, compliant, and aligned with clinical and operational needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, evaluate, and support existing and proposed electronic pharmacy systems, with a strong focus on Epic Willow (Inpatient and/or Ambulatory).
  • Analyze and modify pharmacy-related data systems to improve workflow, accuracy, and performance.
  • Resolve system-related problems through research, troubleshooting, and collaboration with end users and vendor personnel.
  • Analyze system reports in relation to pharmacy and organizational needs and system capabilities.
  • Prepare charts, diagrams, and documentation to support problem analysis and solution recommendations.
  • Develop detailed program specifications and system requirements; identify required inputs and participate in system design, development, build, and testing.
  • Follow departmental procedures related to request tracking, documentation standards, and change control.
  • Oversee and implement robust system and device testing strategies, including validation of pharmacy workflows and integrations.
  • Oversee implementation of required hardware and software components for approved pharmacy applications.
  • Handle the most complex application issues and serve as an escalation point for pharmacy system support.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in Epic Willow, providing guidance and best practices to stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to other analysts; may function as a lead or first-level supervisor.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent experience in lieu of doctorate
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in pharmacy informatics or application analysis
    • Extensive, hands-on experience with Epic Willow (Inpatient and/or Ambulatory), including build, maintenance, testing, and support
  • Licensure:
    • Current Licensed Pharmacist in the state of practice

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Epic Willow certification(s)
  • Experience supporting large or complex health system pharmacy environments
  • Prior leadership or lead analyst experience
