Overview

This position is a Program Manager in the Laboratory Center of Excellence. Primary area of oversight would be Microbiology and Molecular testing across SLHS. The position would cover the Microbiology/Molecular department at the Core Laboratory and the rapid response Microbiology/Molecular at the campus level. The Program Manager is responsible for: -Standardization in the micro/molecular area -Policy/procedure in these areas -Meeting accreditation standards for CAP, JC, CMS -Meeting national standards for microbiology and molecular as prescribed by CLSI -Interface with the Medical Directors and Infectious Disease Providers to establish and maintain best practice in area. -Oversight for the Quality Council for Micro/Molecular across the system -Be available as an expert source for Laboratory staff, providers, and others. -Work on competency across the system for micro/molecular, build program to help close gaps identified. -Bring best practice forward in the area of microbiology/molecular

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience: 6 years' experience.
  • Certification: Must have one of the following:
  • Blood Banking (ASCP_BB)
  • Chemistry (ASCP_C)
  • Cytogenetics (CYGT)
  • Cytotechnologist (ASCP_CT)
  • Hematology (ASCP_H)
  • Histotechnologist (ASCP_HTL)
  • Medical Lab Scientist (ASCP_MLS)
  • Medical Lab Technician (ASCP_MLT or AMT_MLT)
  • Medical Technologist (ASCP_MT or AMT_MT)
