St. Luke's is looking for a Nursing Supervisor – PICU to join us in our strategy to be the community's trusted partner in providing exception, patient-centered care!


The St. Luke’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit serves infants and children through age 17 and is the most remote PICU in the country. Our pediatric population has a wide range of diagnoses that may include respiratory issues, traumatic injuries; pediatric surgeries, neurological, endocrine, sepsis, gastrointestinal, renal, cardiac, and seizure disorders. Other patients cared for in the PICU include pediatric sedations with procedures such as bone marrow aspirations with intrathecal chemotherapy and liver and renal biopsies.


Our interdisciplinary team includes pediatric trained  critical care nurses, respiratory therapists, pediatric intensivists, dietitians, social workers, occupational and physical therapists; child life specialists, pharmacists, chaplains and subspecialty physicians.   We also provide sedations and procedures for children who are outpatient with a family centered care approach.


Nursing Supervisor – PICU

The Nursing Supervisor, is responsible for managing staff, overseeing patient care and ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.  The Nursing Supervisor provides leadership, guidance, counseling and continuing education to staff; will select, develop, coach, mentor, and assess performance of staff; and works with staff to promote resolution of conflicts and counsels staff when clinical practice standards are not met. The Nursing Supervisor assists with coordination of the schedule to ensure adequate staffing levels and assists with budget planning and clinical needs assessments.


Required Criteria 

  • Bachelors of Nursing Degree
  • 3 years’ relevant experience
  • Current RN licensure from the State of Practice

Preferred Criteria

    • Prefer RN experience in Pediatrics/PICU
    • At least 1 year in an RN leadership role (Charge Nurse, Supervisor, Lead RN).
    • Positive attitude, excellent communication and critical thinking skills, patient and family centered clinical approach.
