Paramedic – Critical Care
The Critical Care Paramedic functions as a member of the transport team and is responsible for identifying patient needs, establishing priorities and providing appropriate interventions. Practice is in a specialty critical care inter-hospital environment with limited clinical resources and under extreme and unpredictable transport conditions. Must be able to rapidly recognize and assess acute changes in patient conditions, responding with appropriate interventions as a member of an independent team using standing written orders or with the guidance of online medical control. Through documented and verbal communication, essential information is shared with team members, physicians, and staff from referring hospitals, emergency personnel and other customers.
