The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is responsible for identifying patient and family psychosocial, emotional and cultural needs and priorities for care through assessment, care planning, clinical interventions, education and evaluation of outcomes. The LCSW provides emotional counseling and support to alleviate stress, enhance functional coping abilities, minimize potential problems/barriers related to the medical diagnosis or treatment and maximize opportunities for communication, problem-solving, adjustment to illness (acute or chronic) and complex psychosocial needs. Through documentation and oral communication, essential information is shared with the health care team members and other customers common to the Mountain States Tumor Institute. LCSW reports to the Manager of MSTI Social Services.
