    St. Luke’s Health System is looking for a part-time (0.5 FTE) Certified Anesthesia Technician to join our growing Anesthesiology Department.


    The Boise Anesthesia Assistive Staff Department is currently a 16 member team, spanning coverage for 32 anesthetizing locations and working with nearly 200 anesthesia providers. The primary locations of service are the OR, CVOR, Medical Imaging, Endoscopy and Labor & Delivery. The Anesthesia Department has the opportunity to regularly serve 70 patients in the main OR per day, estimating over 100 patients per day overall. This is a direct patient care position.


    Under supervision of a licensed provider, the Certified Anesthesia Technician assists with routine to complex procedures before, during, and after anesthesia procedures.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Under supervision, assists anesthesia providers by setting-up equipment and preparing medications.
    • Assists the licensed provider with patient assessments, evaluations, transport, positioning, insertion of intravenous and other invasive lines and airway management.
    • Assists the licensed provider in clinical settings such as the operating room (OR), obstetrics suite (OB), interventional and or diagnostic radiology, Post anesthesia care unit (PACU).
    • Assists in direct patient care under supervision in routine & emergency situations.
    • Acts as a resource and collaborates with other resources and departments by providing technical guidance and instruction as appropriate.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.



    • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
    • Experience: 2 years’ clinical experience
    • Licenses/Certifications:
      • Must have current certification in one or more of the following areas:
      • Certified Anesthesia Technician (CerAT)
      • Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT)
      • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure in the State of Practice
      • Current recognized National Certification as a Medical Assistant

    Shift: WEEKEND: 12 hour: Saturday and Sunday
