    St. Luke’s Health System is looking for a Part FLEX (0.15 FTE) Nurse Apprentice to join our growing Inpatient Rehab team. 


    The Nurse Apprentice, under supervision of a registered nurse, performs basic patient care procedures to support the unit/clinic health care team.


    The Inpatient Rehab Hospital consists of two separate "sister" units, and staff float back and forth between them regularly. Due to the nature of Rehab, the care is highly coordinated interdisciplinary care. Patients require daily Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy and/or Recreational Therapy, along with significant medical oversight to reach their discharge goals. The emphasis is on a return to functionality and promoting the highest level of self-sufficiency reasonably foreseeable for patients who often start off significantly compromised due to stroke, traumatic brain injury, or other neurological insults. 



    Essential Job Functions

    • Performs various patient care activities and related nonprofessional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients.
    • Assists in identifying patient needs and determining priority of care. Provides care to patients with conditions common to the unit/area of assignment.
    • Documents information in patient record.
    • Performs various direct patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
    • Communicates information with patient care providers and other staff members to facilitate patient care.
    • Performs tasks and procedures as ordered by the physician under the supervision of a
    • Registered Nurse consistent with approved protocols, policies, and procedures.
    • Performs tasks that require a unique body of knowledge and skills for that area of service.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Required Criteria 

    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • Nurse Apprentice Letter from the State Board of Nursing. The Nurse Apprentice is able to remain in the Nurse Apprentice position following graduation while awaiting RN or GN Licensure or 90 days – whichever comes first
