  • Overview

    St. Luke’s is looking for a Radiation Therapist to join us in our strategy to be the community’s trusted partner in providing exceptional, patient- centered care.

     

    The Radiation Therapist uses radiation to treat patients in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist.

     

    Job Functions:

    • Interpret and implement prescription, treatment plan and plan of care as directed by the radiation oncologist.
    • Updates patient records with radiation dosage given.
    • Determine the impact of therapeutic interventions on the patient’s condition and recognizes the patient progress towards meeting desired outcomes.
    • Documents care based on standards of care and practice. Performs scheduled treatment chart checks and audits.
    • Performs simulation procedures as required for patient diagnosis, disease stage and physician prescriptions.
    • Performs the most difficult tasks with little to no supervision. Serve as a role model and mentor. Clinically oversees the training and orientation of staff and students.
    • Works with the care team to assess the situation. Assists with problem solving, prevention, prioritization, and contingency planning.

     

    Required Criteria:

    • Bachelor's degree OR Associates’ degree with 2 additional years’ of experience.
    • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification in Radiation Therapy.
    • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider certification.
