Overview

St. Luke’s Health System in Boise is seeking a Director Sr, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) to join our Leadership team.

 

Position Summary
The Director Sr, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) leads the design, development and implementation of system-wide DEI strategies, programs, policies, and metrics that enable, promote, and advance a diverse workforce, and an equitable and inclusive culture. As a collaborative partner and trusted advisor, the role is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating a vision and strategy that advances our efforts to realize and sustain an environment of inclusiveness and equity across the health system. As a thought leader, champion, change agent and subject matter expert, this role will help advance our efforts to cultivate an environment where everyone is welcomed, valued, and included.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with internal stakeholders and various external stakeholders in the development of a systemwide, multi-year DEI plan. Provides consulting, thought partnership, and guidance to senior leaders and key stakeholders with the purpose of implementing and continuously improving St. Luke’s DEI strategic framework.
  • Acts as a champion for equity, inclusion and anti-racism by evaluating policies, procedures and ideas to demonstrate inclusivity in work processes and teams, encouraging and promoting the diversification of our staff, and in actively seeking out and inviting alternative viewpoints in planning, discussions and decision making.
  • Demonstrates and leverages healthcare knowledge to serve as a thought leader or partner in finding a path to achieve the goals associated with culturally competent care.
  • Provides oversight to the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisory Council to ensure the areas of focus align with DEI strategy and framework.
  • Listens to and gives voice to emergent issues of equity, diversity, and inclusion within the organization, the local community, and nationally as it affects the organization. Serves as the subject matter expert on matters of equity, diversity, and inclusion for our organization.
  • Represents the organization internally and externally on DEI related efforts as appropriate. Develops and recommends strategy for working with external community and cultural organizations.
  • Develops and implements key metrics to measure diversity initiatives and programs using systems and business strategies. Continuously improves the tracking, measurement and reporting on these metrics and make recommendations based on the analysis of the data.
  • Provides executive leadership consistent updates on DEI efforts and other relevant information, including statutory and regulatory changes. Demonstrates an ability to persuade and influence in complex and sensitive situations to affect decisions and outcomes.
  • Creates an environment of integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence and promotes a culture of learning and innovation to facilitate the development of the DEI strategic plan.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, health care or related field.
  • Experience: 10 year’s relevant experience required.
  • Licenses/Certifications: None
