St. Luke’s Health System has an exciting opportunity for Pharmacy Technician to join our team! 

Pharmacy Technician

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medications. This includes receiving and interpreting the physician’s order, entering it into the pharmacy system software, preparing the medication for dispensing, completing appropriate documentation and charging the patient. The Pharmacy Technician also assures that all areas are stocked with medications and other supplies

 

Essential Job Functions

 

  1. Compound, prepare and process medications/medication orders for final verification by the pharmacist.
  2. Refill automated dispensing devices, dispensing technology in the medical center.
  3. Order, receive, store incoming medications and supplies.
  4. Utilize computer information systems to support pharmacy processes.
  5. Complete required cleaning, monitoring, logs, recalls and outdates to established standards.
  6. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Required Criteria

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Ability and willingness to demonstrate and maintain competency as required for job title and the unit/area(s) of assignment.
  • Technician Level III (Mandatory Job Requirements – Must complete entire list) and – 4 years’ experience and valid Pharmacy Technician Registration in the state of practice – Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
  • Technician Level II – (Mandatory Job Requirements – Must complete entire list) and 2 years’ experience and valid Pharmacy Technician Registration in the state of practice - – Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
  • Technician Level I – New hire with little or no experience
