Overview

St. Luke’s Health System in Boise, Idaho is seeking a First Assist Certified Surgical Tech to join our Neuro Surgical Services team. This Certified Surgical Technologist is a partnership position within the Neuroscience Service Line, that reports directly to Neurosurgery. This position will build a high level of teamwork, skill and career satisfaction ensuring our patients receive the best care for years to come.

Position Summary
The First Assist Certified Surgical Technologist functions as the surgical first assistant under the direct supervision of the operating surgeon during the operative procedure and provides comprehensive care during the perioperative phase

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of duties to assist a surgeon during surgery.
  • Assists in patient care related activities.
  • Organizes and coordinates supplies, equipment, and team members to maintain an efficient, and safe intraoperative environment.
  • Serves as a resource to surgical team regarding surgeon preferences.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: HS or GED.
  • Experience: None
  • Licenses/Certifications:
    • Current certification in one of the following: Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA); Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) through the National Surgical Assistant Association (NSAA); or Surgical Assistant Certified (SA-C) through the American Board of Surgical Assistants (ABSA)
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Preferred Qualifications: Neurosurgery Experience
