Overview

St. Luke’s Health System in Boise, ID is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Tech 3 to join our Clinical Engineering team.

 

Unit/Position Summary

The Biomedical Equipment Technician 3, under minimal supervision, provide expert-level experience in the repair, calibration, and maintenance of medical equipment, instrumentation, and support systems used in healthcare deliver.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect a diverse range of therapeutic and diagnostic biomedical instrumentation and equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and electrical safety testing of clinical equipment, devices, and systems.
  • Diagnose and correct system and equipment malfunctions.
  • Tests the functionality of medical equipment making necessary operational adjustments.
  • Maintain documentation of all service events, performance tests, and corrective maintenance.
  • Provide technical assistance and instruction to personnel regarding equipment operations and maintenance.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs and/or maintenance as needed.
  • Assist, manage, and monitor third-party repairs.
  • Review outcome of preventive maintenance actions and make recommendation to department staff concerning improvements.
  • Assist, manage, and monitor third-party repairs.
  • Provide in-service educational programs on use of equipment.
  • Understand and comply with Joint Commission and other applicable standards and regulations.
  • Serves as a trainer, lead or subject matter expert. Acts as first point of escalation. May participate in interview, training and onboarding process. May participate in performance improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Serves as a resources to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate's degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Department of Defense (DOD) Certification or 2 years relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience: 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Licenses/Certifications: None
