Overview

St. Luke’s Health System in Boise at the St. Luke's Plaza Building is seeking a Catering Assistant to join our Food and Nutrition team.

 

Unit/Position Summary
The Catering Assistant, under direct supervision, assists in the service of meals or catered meals for patients, visitors, and staffy

 

Responsibilities

The Catering Assistant, under direct supervision, assists in the service of meals or catered meals for patients, visitors, and staff

  • Responsible for delivering meals to specified events. Inspects food items to ensure items match menu and instructions.
  • Assists in catering or special event services.
  • Maintains par levels of foods and/or supplies in assigned areas, orders and/or restocks items in accordance with established routines, rotates food stocks, checks expiration dates.
  • Cleans and sanitizes equipment, kitchen area, dishes, flatware, trays, cups, glasses and cooking utensils, as designated.
  • Prepares all assigned foods in the correct quantities, following established procedures, portion control and food quality.
  • Provides service and assistance to staff and other customers in accordance with established dietary and retail cafe policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to all food hygiene and health and safety requirements in order to meet regulatory and company standards.
  • May order supplies.
  • Resolves basic issues using knowledge of procedures and policies. Refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
