What You Can Expect:

  • The Carpenter 3, under minimal supervision, performs skilled carpentry work in the construction, maintenance and repair of buildings and facilities, and related work as required.

    • Works from drawings or verbal instructions and operates a variety of carpentry hand and power tools or equipment.
    • Remodels and repairs cabinets, counters, shelves, tables and miscellaneous furniture.
    • Alters and repairs a variety of building structures such as walls, partitions, doorways, window frames, stairways and roofs.
    • Installs window glass and screens and applies wall and floor covering materials. Installs ceramic and other types of tile.
    • Estimates time and material costs on carpentry projects and requisitions new carpentry materials and equipment.
    • Complies with appropriate safety practices and procedures and with applicable federal, state and local codes, regulations and requirements.
    • Coordinates the day-to-day operations of a group of employees, laborers, contractors, material suppliers, and/or vendors.
    • Coordinates work with outside contractors.
    • Assures code and building standards are met.
    • Serves as a trainer, lead or subject matter expert. Acts as first point of escalation. May participate in interview, training and onboarding process. May participate in performance improvement initiatives as needed.
    • Reveals mastery of advanced duties of a specialized/technical nature.
    • Serves as a resources to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
    • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

       

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: 4 years' related experience
  • Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver's License
