Overview

St. Luke's in Nampa are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Lactation Consultant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting new mothers and families in their breastfeeding journey, providing expert lactation advice, and delivering exceptional patient care.

 

As an RN Lactation Consultant, you will play a vital role in promoting breastfeeding as the optimal choice for infant feeding, offering education, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise. You will work closely with mothers, infants, and healthcare professionals to ensure a positive breastfeeding experience and successful outcomes.

 

What You Can Expect:

  • Part Time 0.5 FTE 20 hours per week (Typical day shift hours are 7a-7p)
  • This position is Sign on Bonus eligible 
  • Hours will include various day shifts 7 days a week/weekend
  • Provide inpatient support for both Mother Baby and NICU patients
  • The Lactation Consultant provides professional leadership and advanced knowledge in the practice of lactation management

  • Assesses patient's needs, diagnoses lactation problems, plans and implements intervention, and evaluates outcomes

  • Provides outpatient care consultations for families experiencing breastfeeding difficulties

  • Serves as consultant for physicians and other healthcare providers concerning lactation as it relates to patient's health problems

  • Meets with new mothers to assess interest in breastfeeding. Identifies issues and offers suggestions or corrections

  • Specializes in consulting staff and patients on proper breastfeeding techniques

  • Handles complex issues and problems

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor of Nursing Degree
  • Experience: 2 year's clinical experience
  • Licenses/Certifications:
  • Current RN License from the State of Practice
  • International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBLCE) -Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
