Are you a strategic sourcing expert with a focus on Med/Surg products and services, or have clinical experience you’d like to put to use in supply chain? Do you want to play a pivotal role in improving healthcare outcomes while driving significant cost savings and operational efficiency? As a Sourcing Manager – Med/Surg, your efforts will directly impact patient care by improving the quality and cost-effectiveness of medical supplies and services across our system. Our Consolidated Service Center (CSC) is dedicated to driving exceptional healthcare outcomes by implementing innovative sourcing strategies. As a Sourcing Manager focused on Med/Surg, you will be instrumental in leading the sourcing process for medical/surgical supplies and services, including areas like Information Technology, Purchased Services, Laboratory Services, and other specialized categories.  What You Can Expect

  • Lead Sourcing Strategy: Oversee the strategic sourcing of Med/Surg supplies and services across multiple locations, ensuring cost savings, quality improvements, and operational efficiency.
  • Supplier Negotiations: Lead negotiations for long-term strategic contracts with suppliers, focusing on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and not just price improvements.
  • Develop and Manage Supplier Relationships: Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships, working on performance management, supplier development, and dispute resolution to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Drive Cost Savings & Standardization: Identify cost-saving opportunities within your assigned categories and collaborate with key stakeholders to standardize products and services across multiple locations.
  • Market Analysis & Trends: Perform complex analysis of spend data and market trends and develop sourcing strategies that align with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with internal teams, including Supply Chain, Finance, and Category Leaders, to align sourcing strategies with broader organizational objectives.
  • Supplier Business Reviews: Lead and contribute to supplier business reviews, ensuring continuous improvement in performance and identifying new opportunities for cost savings.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to process improvements within the category, ensuring the effective management of contracts, compliance, and operational procurement activities.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage spend analysis, supplier performance data, and purchasing trends to make informed decisions that will drive sourcing initiatives and savings.

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience.

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Clinical Experience: Clinical experience in any capacity is highly preferred, especially if it involves supply chain-related duties. This could include experience in managing the flow of medical supplies, coordinating with vendors, handling inventory management, or assisting with procurement of clinical products. Familiarity with healthcare supply chain processes, such as ensuring the timely availability of medical equipment, tracking inventory, or supporting clinical teams with the efficient sourcing and delivery of supplies, will be considered a strong asset in this role. This experience will provide you with valuable insights into the operational needs and demands of clinical services, enabling you to make more informed sourcing decisions and drive improvements within the Med/Surg category.
  • Strategic Sourcing Expertise: Proven experience leading sourcing activities, particularly in Med/Surg or similar healthcare-related categories.
  • Supplier Management: Experience managing supplier relationships, focusing on performance management, dispute resolution, and continuous improvement.
  • Contract Negotiation: Strong background in negotiating complex contracts and focusing on TCO to drive long-term supplier value.
  • Market Knowledge: Solid understanding of market dynamics, supply chain trends, and supplier capabilities within the Med/Surg and healthcare sector.
  • Analytical Skills: Expertise in spend data analysis and using insights to inform sourcing decisions.
  • Process Improvement: Experience in driving process improvements across sourcing, procurement, and contract management.
  • MS Excel: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.) for data analysis and reporting.
