The Boise Operating room serves all specialties outside CVOR and L&D. We are the largest OR in the system and support the highest acuity patient population in Pediatric Trauma, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Robotics, ENT, OMF, Plastics, Urology, Bariatrics and General surgery. Position Summary
The Director of Forecasting, Demand Planning and Inventory is a key leadership role responsible for the strategic development and management of inventory forecasts and inventory management functions at SLHS, system wide. This role will lead a group of managers and individual contributors to ensure process consistencies and optimized inventory support across the organization. This role will be a key in developing and installing new demand management and forecasting systems.
This position is on-site in Meridian, Idaho.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for planning and forecasting of medical and non-medical inventory level based on historical trends, reoccurring buys, seasonal forecasts, purchase trends, and current inventory levels.
- Responsible for the most complex inventory assignments for a broad scope of product and vendors, as well as developing and maintaining the highest levels of inventory strategies.
- Reviews and sets optimal inventory levels using system generated demand plans and best in class reorder methods and tools. Reviews forecasted demand with appropriate stakeholders and makes adjustments based on forecast accuracy and localized service area climate(s).
- Develops strategies to maximize opportunities and mitigate risk. Responsible for managing inventory driven costs and optimizing overall inventory spend and levels. Drives strategies to reduce inventory excess, obsolescence, devaluation and overall cost of capital.
- Manages a team to analyze, identify and implement opportunities for improvements to the forecasting process to achieve specific service level and inventory productivity goals/agreements. Establishes business rules for customer demand in collaboration with manufacturer partners regarding product seasonality, product knowledge and utilization strategies.
- Manages a team to optimize and generate systematic inventory management processes through technology and reporting as well as partner with Sourcing managers and suppliers to develop multi-node supply chain visibility.
- Manages a team to develop customer specific allocation strategies by vendor/product lines in coordination with internal and external resources/stakeholders.
- Evaluates and monitors contract performance to ensure compliance (i.e., Fill Rates). Provides supplier performance feedback as necessary and responds to routine supplier performance surveys. Partners with appropriate stakeholders to address non-conformance manufacturer issues. Develops annual inventory financial plan in conjunction with Supply Chain leadership.
- Supports all aspects of the product volume forecasting, inventory allocations, new product introductions, contract portfolio conversions and assisting the integration of new delivery locations into the SLHS system.
