St. Luke’s Health System in Boise is seeking a Full Time RN to join our Vascular Access team.   2, 12 HOUR SHIFTS, 0630-1900 / VARIABLE DAYS / MINIMAL HOLIDAY CALL / NO PATIENT ASSIGNMENT     Come be a part of the vascular access team who specializes in placing bedside PICC lines, Midlines, and difficult PIVs with the use of ultrasound.   The vascular access team works with bedside nurses, physicians, case managers and other inter-departmental team members to ensure early initiation of vascular access device (VAD) selection and implementation. Vascular access nurses assess patients with difficult vasculature for PIVs, Midlines and PICC lines with the use of ultrasound technology. This team is also responsible for assisting in vascular access troubleshooting and providing appropriate education. We review medical records for possible contraindications and obtain informed consent when appropriate. The vascular access team helps to determine the best vascular access device for the patient based on current access, length of stay, diagnoses, length of IV therapy, etc.   Qualified applicants will be trained on proper insertion, maintenance, and assessment of vascular access devices. They will become proficient in safe placement of PICC lines, midlines, and PIVs under ultrasound. The expectation is that the team member will obtain their national certification for vascular access within one year of hire.   SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE!

Come find out what all the buzz is about!   Position Summary St. Luke’s Cancer Institute is seeking a nurse to join the radiation oncology team in clinic support and triage. The clinic support RN is a unique position and plays a significant role in supporting the entire radiation oncology clinic. The clinic support RN is the backbone of the radiation oncology department and will work alongside the providers and other RN’s to care for patients, coordinate care for complex patients, follow up and educate patients and their families on care plan. The RN for oncology triage is responsible for assessing patient needs over the phone and in person. Excellent critical thinking and assessment skills will be required to evaluate patients of all ages receiving radiation treatment.   This RN is a keystone to the complex, high quality, compassionate care that Idaho has come to expect of our organization. Promoting a positive patient experience with compassion and kindness while integrating technical skills, scientific knowledge, and a caring attitude both in the clinic and through the triage process to aid those living with cancer and their families will be essential. This RN will be an integral part of our radiation oncology patient’s care starting from diagnosis, treatment, then survivorship to end of life.   This is a full-time position, 0.9 FTE. We work closely with Bariatric, Acute Care Surgery, Vascular, Urology, Gynecology, Plastic Surgery, and Cystic Fibrosis providers to provide the best patient-centered care possible to our patients. Come join our team!   Unit/Position Summary 6 East is a fast-paced 35 bed Med-Surg unit that is an ideal place to build strong clinical skills while caring for an increasingly diverse patient population. Typical RN to patient ratios on this unit are 1:5, with exceptions frequently made for higher acuity patients. For CNAs, the ratios are typically 1:8-10. Most of our patient population is made up of post-surgical patients recovering from a variety of procedures. For over 10 years, 6 East has been designated as a Center of Excellence for Bariatric patients. In addition, surgical specialties that we care for on our unit include Colorectal, Urology, Vascular, Gynecological, General Acute Care Surgery, and Plastic/Reconstructive procedures. Cystic Fibrosis patients are admitted here for treatment during exacerbations, and a wide variety of other general medical patients are admitted to us from the Emergency Department, outpatient clinics, or one of our Intensive Care Units.   6E provides care to adult patients with general medical conditions and/or post-surgical abdominal, vascular, urology, bariatric and gynecology patients. Our team includes RNs, CNAs, Case Managers, Educator, leadership (Manager, Assistant Nurse Managers) as well as RT, PT, Pharmacy and Dietitians.  Boise 6 East Med/Surg Unit is a 35 bed combination of general medical patients as well as post-surgical patients. 6 East vision is a commitment to providing patient-centered care and professional growth/ development of our staff   Your new team! The RN is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting the physician with patient care.
