Occupational Safety/Workforce Safety exists to keep our St. Luke's workforce safe and the organization running. We build relationships with our workforce and develop education and communication strategies that help drive consistent adherence to safe work practices and reduce DART injuries. We conduct various worksite evaluations to reduce risk of exposures and unsafe conditions that may lead to injuries.
Day in the Life:
- Position is hybrid Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm based in Twin Falls/Magic Valley, Idaho
- Participates in daily regional safety huddles; offers insights on accident trends and investigations.
- Provides oversight of safety event investigations and corrective action plans related to reported workforce injuries to ensure timely completion and implementation of interventions based on National Institute of Occupational Health and Safety (NIOSH) Hierarchy of Controls.
- Analyze data searching for emerging trends. Partnering with local operational leaders to resolve hazards.
- Monitors Employee Safety Power BI Dashboard: Works with other Workforce Safety Coordinators to develop and adjust system-level action plans based on leading and lagging indicators.
- Research best practices and regulatory standards. Serves as the subject matter expert on a variety of health & safety topics as well as OSHA regulations and updates. Ensures workforce safety programs comply with OSHA regulations and The Joint Commission standards.

Unit Summary
Our unit is composed of some of the best nurses in Southern Idaho. This is a blend unit of periopertive sevices. The department cares for patients getting ready for and recovering from surgical procedures, it includes pre-op, PACU and SDS. The department requires that you be cross trained to two subunits, critical care experience is preferred to work in the PACU. We prepare and recover patients that require surgical interventions for service lines such as vascular, urology, ENT, general surgery, orthopedics, plastics, gym, gastroenterology, and podiatry. We work very hard together to create an exceptional patient experience!
Responsibilities
- Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Develops, implements and coordinates individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and on-going assessments.
- Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
- Performs therapeutic nursing interventions.
- Manages care of patients.
- Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities
- Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
- Provides patient centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model.
