An Outpatient Pharmacy Technician assists our pharmacists with the preparation and delivery of medications for our patients. Our Outpatient Team has a wide variety of roles which include:
Meds-to-Beds Technicians(M2B) fulfill medications for our patients preparing to discharge so they are able to take home their prescriptions and eliminate the time and energy wasted going to the pharmacy after discharge. The Outpatient Meds to Beds Technician conveniently delivers the medications ordered in their discharge treatment to their bedside.
Medication Historian Technicians (MHT's) work directly with our patients reviewing their medication history with them at the bedside. MHT’s reach out to our patients' pharmacies to review their lists of recently filled medications, and to current providers to obtain their most up-to-date medication history. This allows our technicians to review their medication lists for discrepancies, have changes validated by pharmacists, and work closely with the attending providers offering feedback of major findings that may have been missed.
Medication Historian Technicians work in a dynamic environment with other interdepartmental disciplines like inpatient pharmacists, nurses, and case management/social work to provide the highest, safest quality of care available.
Med Locker Technicians prepare and deliver patient medications to our Med Lockers conveniently located in our St. Luke’s Plaza, Magic Valley Medical Center and McCall Medical Center. Med Locker Techs communicate with patients when their prescriptions are ready for pick up, allowing them to pick up at their own convenience.
Outpatient Pharmacy Technicians (Central Staffing) who work in our main pharmacies assist the pharmacist in the preparation and delivery of medications for our patients. Outpatient technicians have direct patient contact and rotate through filling, prescription input, insurance claims, curbside, coordinate Med syncing and assisting patients at the counter. Outpatient technicians enjoy the hustle of working in fast paced environment with our fantastic team members!

An Inpatient Pharmacy Technician assists our pharmacists with the preparation and delivery of medications for our patients. Tasks vary in day-to-day scheduling, ranging from:
- Sterile/non-sterile compounding
- Delivering to Automated Dispensing Cabinets at the units
- Preparing immunizations
- Preparing and filling labels in our central pharmacy
- Preparing kits to be delivered to the floor with kit check
- Working with our nursing staff to ensure we are meeting patients' needs
Additional duties of collecting patient medication histories at the bedside to provide the safest, highest quality of care are required for specific departments. An Inpatient Pharmacy Technician works with updated pharmacy technology to assist them in completing tasks quickly, efficiently, and safely.

St. Luke’s Cancer Institute Oncology Pharmacy Technicians assist the pharmacists in the preparation of medications including chemotherapy. Oncology technicians prepare sterile IV admixtures in a clean room setting to be administered to our outpatient patients. The majority of our technicians work within the clean room throughout the day and split tasks purchasing, cleaning, stocking, and preparing for the following day's treatment plans. St. Luke’s Cancer Institute works with a small team of technicians and pharmacists in the Treasure Valley who treat our community through five (5) different Institutes in Fruitland, Nampa, Meridian, Boise, and Twin Falls. Our Oncology teams have close interactions with our nursing staff and patients.

Unit/Position Summary
The Ambulatory Clinical Support Unit (clinic float pool) is searching for CMAs to support staffing in our Treasure Valley clinics. Ambulatory CSU is a centralized staffing department that provides a high quality float experience to the clinics and patients we serve. This requires CMAs that are energetic, flexible and willing to support the mission of the organization. Ambulatory CSU float pool CMAs maintain competencies for the clinics they support. The requirement includes orienting to and staffing three skill sets and floating is expected within the Treasure Valley. Once orientation concludes, we offer a 10% differential in addition to the base rate.
