On this unit you will see post-operative open heart, Thoracotomy, Major Vascular, Neurosurgery along with any post-surgical patient requiring ICU monitory. You may also see preoperative patients with medically managed Stroke/Neurology Patients.

It is staffed with experienced care managers and allied health professionals who utilize subjective and objective information received from in home telehealth systems to provide proactive and holistic care to patients. The RPM care model alerts our clinical staff to subtle deterioration in a patient’s condition, allowing them to perform early interventions in order to avoid adverse outcomes. The RPM program is a new and rapidly expanding program which seeks to serve patients throughout Idaho.  Advanced critical thinking skills, mature ability to form positive relationships with patients and a passion for innovative care models is essential.   The Virtual Care Team is located in Boise and operational from 7a-7p.  This role is is not remote and will be located in our Vitual Care Center.

You will care for post-surgical patients, patients receiving chemotherapy and some medical-surgical overflow. Those interested in an ICU-type experience will be able to care for patients who are critically ill and need close monitoring/intervention.   Do you love learning? After an individualized orientation, RNs will be trained in chemotherapy administration, working with the young adult population, symptom management/palliative care, and Idaho's only autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplant programs. You will gain expertise working with central lines, monitoring lab results and treating critical electrolyte imbalances and blood cell counts. In addition, the unit offers a biennial oncology conference, biennial stem cell transplant conference, cross-training to a connected outpatient unit, and multiple leadership opportunities to enhance and advance oncology care.
